Make It With Wool encourages personal creativity in sewing, knitting, crocheting, spinning, weaving, and other needlework arts. It is organized and run by an all volunteer group of District, State and National Directors and is funded by the Washington Wool Growers' Auxiliary.
The Make It With Wool Contest has been promoting the versatility, beauty and wearability of wool since 1947! Contestants of all ages, from pre-teens through adults, sew, knit, crochet, weave or felt wool garments, which are judged on quality and presentation.
In Washington, contests are held in the fall at six district locations throughout the state. Contestants may compete in whichever contest they choose. The district winners of the Junior, Senior and Adult categories advance to the state competition. The state Junior and Senior winners attend and compete at the national competition. The state Adult winner submits his/her garments and a video for national judging.
